story written by Jen at snapshots 2010

If its raining, you want a hazzle free party or end of year function for your play group, or some time out for yourself while your under 10s are enjoying a stimulating, safe and innovative Multi-level Adventure Playground then JUNGLE JUNCTION (Napier) is the place to go.

The inside playground is owned and operated by a lovely couple whom I know well.

This place will keep your kids busy for hours

Ocean Spa - Napier

story by Jen from Snapshots 2010

Yesterday we enjoyed an afternoon at Ocean Spa. I don't like swimming in the sea but I LOVE swimming here and yes I did swim (Sorry no photos of me!) Guess my boys were too busy enjoying themselves.

As well as all the warmly heated pools this place also has a cafe, although we brought a picnic :)
A view out over the sea so beautiful and a gym equipped with sauna and steam room - pool side.

May And Peter Harris Playground

story written by Jen from Snapshots 2010

In my opinion the best play ground in Napier is the May And Peter Harris Playground. Its big, well shaded and best of all fully fenced. This ensures safety for little ones and although its on a major road it remains safe. It has many different pieces of equipment for young explorers to play, exercise and gain confidence on.

Even my older children have been known to enjoy it :)

It is popular and with park tables and seats is a nice place for lunch. Some families use the grass areas to have picnics on too :)

I would recommend children were dressed in play clothes and maybe have a change of clothes with them as it features a sand pit, water play area.

Napier Botanical Gardens

STORY BY Jen snapshots 2010

This afternoon we got rid of the stale bread that has been sitting in the bottom of the freezer for sometime.

We went to the Napier Botanical Gardens at the top of the hill. There are many paths to follow. "Tigers and wild animals" have been known to lurk within the trees according to my 4 year old. A great place to explore. The gardens are tended by many gardeners one of which is a friend of mine. If you get tired they have seats spread among the gardens to take a rest on. This place is also steeped with history for example the well is about 152 years old, it was made for the British troops that were stationed here then. A nice place especially on a sunny afternoon and unlike some botanical gardens all this beauty is free for the wandering within.
